Cleaning Instructions for Splints

  1. Clean your splint once per day with an old toothbrush.
  1. Clean with soap, do not use toothpaste. The splint is made of plastic and it will be too hard to remove the toothpaste from the small pores in the plastic. If you don’t like the taste remaining from the soap on your splint, dip it in mouthwash after cleaning.
  1. Once a week, place the splint in a glass with 1 tablet of “Polident for Partials” for 5 minutes. This will clear off any residue left on the splint and give it a clean mint taste. If the splint is being put in storage for a while or not being used daily, immerse in water.
